Perlina J. Nestor Freeman 1910-2002 Obituary

Perlina J. Nestor Freeman, 92, a resident of Broaddus Long Term Care, Philippi, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, in the long-term care facility, following an extended illness.

She was born June 10, 1910, at Moatsville, a daughter of the late George W. and Anise D. Poe Poling.

Her first husband, Ersel L. Nestor, preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1956. On Nov. 6, 1964, she was married to Darwin C. Freeman, who preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1999.

Survivors include two daughters, Jerri and husband, Donald L. Jones, Scott Depot, and Wanda and husband, George J. Thompson, Belington; one stepson, James Edgar and wife, Jean Freeman, Moatsville; two sisters, Mary Marteney, Moatsville, and Dora Hathaway, Warren, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Evelyn Grace Apperson; three sisters, Flossie Poling, Flora Barrett and Bonnie Wilson; and three brothers, Bill Poling, Andrew Poling and Wilbert Poling.

Mrs. Freeman was a former housekeeper, aide and laundress in the Myers Clinic Hospital. She attended the Souls Harbor Tabernacle.

Friends may call at Stemple & Forman Funeral Home in Philippi from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Arden Beck officiating. Interment will follow in Central Chapel Cemetery.
