PETE EDWIN TACY, age 96 years, a well known Farmer and a life-long resident of the Becky’s Creek community, Huttonsville, WV went home to be with his master Sunday morning, September 11, 2011 at his home.

He was born Saturday, March 20, 1915 at Beckys’ Creek, WV a son of the late Woodford H. and Sybil P. Brake Tacy. On June 8, 1947 at Lewisburg, WV he was married to the former Evelyn Lorena Pingley, who preceded him in death on June 27, 2010.

Left to cherish his memories is one daughter: Donna Tacy Lemons; one son: Pete E. Tacy, II and wife Anita, all of Huttonsville; one granddaughter: Jaina L. Cahill and husband Aaron, Fairmont; and two sisters: Verna Elbon and Lena Alexander.

Preceding him in death are one brother: Harry Tacy, and two sisters: Louise Lowther and Precilious “Peg” Kelley.

He attended the schools of Randolph County, and was a veteran of WWII European Division; and had worked for the Huttonsville Correction Facility, until the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Harts Chapel Church, the H. W. Daniel’s Post # 29, American Legion and the Tygart’s Valley Post # 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Pete loved his family, friends, and farming. He enjoyed fishing adventures and was an avid outdoorsman.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 to 9 PM, Tuesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 2 PM. The Rev. Robert Lowther and Rev. Herman Jones and will officiate and interment will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville, WV where the H. W. Daniel’s Post # 29 American Legion and the Tygart’s Valley Post # 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct full military honors.
