Phyllis Jean Heckler Hebb, a resident of Hendricks, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Friday morning, March 4, 2022, at her home.

She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.

She was born in Parsons, West Virginia, on Dec. 6, the daughter of the late William “Weed” and Bessie Luzier Heckler.

On April 27, 1957, she was married to Charles F. Hebb, who preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1995.

Surviving are her children, Charles “Chuck” Hebb and wife, Melondy, Sherry Cross and husband, Omer, Danny Hebb and wife, Michelle, Becky Alexopoulos and husband, Charles, Liesa Propst, Susan Close and husband, Jackie, Jeffrey Hebb and wife, Donna, and Barbara Reynolds and husband Raymond; one brother, Bill Heckler; two sisters, Margaret Landry and Joyce Papadopulos and husband, Steve; her grandchildren, Jason Hebb, Shanna Arman, Pamela Cassidy and husband, Danny, AJ Shahan, Lesley Stemple and husband, Derek, Jacob Hebb and wife, Mary Beth, DJ Buchanan and wife, Liz, Zeke Propst, Michael Close and wife, Amanda, Shelly Simmons, Ashley Lipscomb and fiance, Dustin Summerfield, Zoey Hebb, Tessa Reynolds and fiance, Jimmy Simmons, and Kendra Reynolds and companion, Matt Cassidy; her great-grandchildren, Erin Cassidy, Addyson, Isla and Carter Stemple, Dylan, Haidyn and Levi Arman, Caroline Hebb, Rocker Propst, Sarah Close, Liz and Bobby Tucker, Braylon Simmons, Caleb and Madi Britton, Hadley and Macey Lipscomb, Stella Summerfield, Hudson Simmons and Allie Cassidy; and step-grandchildren, Amber Hissam and Dustin, Daniel Michael, Stacey Canfield and Dylan, Elias Hissam and Aleecia Hissam.

Preceding her in death is two sons, Tony and Michael Hebb; her son-in-law, Jimmy Propst, great-granddaughter, Raya Simmons; and siblings, Geraldine Purnell, Betty Gibbs, David “Bud” Heckler and Steve Heckler.

Phyllis was a homemaker and devoted Mother.

She provided childcare for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others in the community, who she loved like they belong to her.

She attended the Hambleton United Methodist Church.

She was kindhearted and welcoming to anyone that came to her home. To know her was to love her. She never failed to tell you that she loved you.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday at noon.

Pastor Susie Metzner will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, West Virginia.

The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Phyllis Jean Heckler Hebb.
