Chaplain Randall Jackson Brake, age 54 years, a resident of Elkins, met his loving Savior at 2:40 AM Monday, August 2, 2010 at his home.

He had been in declining health for the past two years.

He was born June 23, 1956 in Elkins, a son of the late Kenneth Lane Brake and the late Margaret Mae Brake.

On June 8, 1984 in Elkins he was married to Kathy Jane Sullivan Brake who survives in Elkins.

Also surviving are two sisters, Juanita Lee and husband Kevin, Virginia Beach, VA and Angela Marie Swecker of Elkins, three brothers, Phillip Wayne Brake and Kathy, Berkeley Springs, WV, Elmer A. Kisner, Jr., St. Mary’s, WV and Gary Lee Kisner of Elkins.

He was “Poppa Fred” to several nieces and nephews including Kyatt, who is also his goddaughter, Darby and Derek Bailey, Calista and Albert Chewning, Zach Berg, Hailey and Hannah Bonnett, Abigale Gooden, Morgan Vance and Sam Brake.

He also leaves behind his caretaker for the past two years, Tonya Calhoun and special pets, Jasper, Harper Lee and Raven.

Randall was an Ordained Elder of the Church of the Nazarene and a former pastor of the Mt. View Church of the Nazarene at Huttonsville.

He was employed as a Correctional Officer at the Huttonsville Correctional Center for eighteen years and served as Chaplain at the Correctional Center for the past twelve years.

Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 at the Elkins First Church of the Nazarene at Gilman.

On Thursday, Aug 5th friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM the funeral hour.

Pastor Terry Burgess and Evangelist Gary Kendall will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkins First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, PO Box 50, Elkins, WV 26241 or to Mountain Hospice, 1600 Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250 in memory of Randall.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Chaplain Randall Jackson Brake.
