Ray Archibald Shiflett 1910-1995 Obituary
Ray A. Shiflett, 84, of Ravenna, died Tuesday at Robinson Memorial Hospital following a six-month illness.
Born June 15, 1910 in Mill Creek, W. Va., he was the son of Gilbert and Naomi (Bosley) Shiflett. He had retired in 1975 from Harbisone-Walker in Windham.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary J. (Scott); sons, Titus of Ravenna, Arnold of Cuyahoga Falls, Junior of Ravenna; daughters, Edna Marie Shiflett of Akron; Sher Shiflett of Cuyahoga Falls; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by son, Conley, daughter, Jewell, and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Kent Chapel, 1005 E. Main St., Kent, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday. Rev. Don Singleton will officiate.
Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
