Mr. Raymond Monroe Scott, 74 , a resident of Mill Creek, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born July 4, 1938, at Mabie, a son of the late Walter Farland Scott and Nellie Jane Scott Wegman.

On Feb. 11, 1963, in Oakland, Md., he was married to Martha Louise McCauley Scott, who survives in Mill Creek.

Also surviving are two daughters, Kathryn D. Mathes and Connie L. Gibson, both of Mill Creek; one brother, Edward Scott of Elkins; a half brother, Freddy Wegman of Elkins; two sisters, Mary Bennett and Josephine Tallman both of Elkins; and two half sisters, Lorena Huffnagel of Valley Bend and Earnestine “Sissy” Sharp of Cleveland, Ohio. Five grandchildren, Charles E. Hight, Shawn Gibson, Kenny Hight, Steven Hight and Tonya Hamilton; and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

Also preceding him in death were his stepfather, Earnest Wegman; twin sisters, Thelma and Velma; and a brother, William Scott.

Mr. Scott attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed for many years as a high lift operator for Myles Lumber Co. prior to his retirement.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, in the Mill Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Randy Long will officiate, and interment will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Morgantown, 841 Country Club Road, Morgantown, WV 26505 or to a charity of choice, in memory of Mr. Scott. Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Raymond Monroe Scott.
