OBITUARY: RAYMOND T. CORLEY Raymond Thomas Corley, 86, of Oak Ave., Junior, died Wednesday evening, April 7, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. He was born October 7, 1923, at Weaver community, a son of the late Boyd and Nettie May (Hillyard) Corley. On April 24, 1943, he married the former Freddie Louise Bartlett, who preceded him in death on September 23, 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Linda E. Skidmore and husband, Jack, Junior, Barbara S. “Bobby” Boserman and husband, Bob, Norman, OK; one son, Thomas K. Corley and wife, Patricia, Charles Town, WV; one sister, Irene Virginia Nash, Belington; one brother, Ronald Corley, Weaver; eight grandchildren, Mark (Shelly) Skidmore, Greg (Kelly) Skidmore, Derek (Charlene) Skidmore, Joshua (Jennifer) Boserman, Marci (Dustin) Erdmann, Megan Corley, Patrick Corley and Will Corley; and nine great grandchildren. Mr. Corley was also preceded in death by a brother, Dorsey Corley. He was a 1943 graduate of Belington High School and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Army. He was retired from Consolidation Coal and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Mr. Corley was a former member of Laurel Mountain Post #410, V.F.W. and was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 11, from the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington. The Rev. Doyle N. Rider will officiate and interment will follow in the Hillyard Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday and from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Sunday. The family requests memorials in the form of contributions to the Hillyard Cemetery Fund, c/o P.O. Box 352, Junior, WV 26275. Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
