Rena Louise Payton 1964-2002 Obituary

Rena Louise Payton, 37, a resident of Route 1, (Mansfield Addition), Philippi, and a former resident of Huntington, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 14, 1964, at Huntington, a daughter of Darrell Lowen and the Rev. Linda D. Payton, who survives at Route 1, (Mansfield Addition), Philippi.

Also surviving are one sister and brother-in-law, Keturah Darlene and husband, Arlin Jackson, Huntington; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Darrell Andrew “Andy” Payton, Huntington, and Michael Todd Payton and wife, Wendy, of Grottoes, Va..

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Henry Payton; grandmother, Helen Louise Black Young; grandfather, Charles Allen Black Sr.; a niece, Darlene Sullivan; and a nephew, James Carl Sullivan.

She was a United Methodist by faith.

Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. She will be moved to the Chapman Funeral Home at Huntington, where friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chapman Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Conrad officiating. Interment will follow in Woodmere Cemetery.
