Reta Myers England, 94, a lifelong resident of Belington and a resident of the Barbour County Good Samaritan Center, for the past three years, departed this life 8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at the center. She had been in declining health for the past three months.

She was born Aug. 16, 1908, in Belington, the daughter of the late George and Frances Myers.

On Dec. 22, 1924, at Belington, she was united in marriage to Stephen Holt England, who preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1961.

She is survived by four daughters, Dorothy Louise Cross and husband, Bernard, of Belington, Norma Lee Wooldridge and husband, Elmer, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Loverine Virginia Ware and husband, Lonnie, of Belington, and Joann Winslow of Century and a loving friend, Gene Everson of Belington.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters and one great-grandson. Mrs. England attended the schools of Barbour County, as a homemaker and was a member of the Westside United Methodist Church in Belington.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral home in Belington on Thursday from noon until 1 p.m., when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home parlor with the Rev. Arden Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery at Belington. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to Mountain Hospice, Crim Avenue, Belington, W.Va., 26250.

The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Reta Myers England.
