Ricky Alan Shicky Shipp 1965-2020 Obituary

Ricky Alan “Shicky” Shipp, age 55 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 at his home. He had been in declining health but his death was unexpected. He was born August 6, 1965 in Suitland, MD a son of the late Samuel Shipp and Naola Mae Shipp who survives in Elkins. He was formerly married for several years to Jeanette DeVall of Beverly with whom he shared their precious son, Tyler Jordan Shipp of Beverly. He dearly loved Tyler and adored his grandson, Jordan Michael Landon Shipp. Also surviving is his companion Jocille “Jo” Lambert; two sisters, Sandi Lynn Ferguson of Montrose, Debi Ann Shipp of Elkins. nieces Casey Gerber, Virginia Beach, VA and Samantha Ferguson of Montrose, WV and nephews Mike Ferguson of Montrose, WV and Hunter Shipp of Elkins. Also preceding him in death was one sister Pamela Gail Gerber. Ricky attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed at Lab Craft and as a Supervisor for Colonial Mill Works prior to becoming disabled. He was a member of a Bowling League. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his contagious laugh and his fearless joy of life. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Ricky’s request for cremation will then be honored and a memorial service will be held at a later date. As we continue to follow the mandate of Gov. Jim Justice and the guidelines established by the Center for Disease Control, masks and social distancing will be required for anyone attending the services for Ricky. The family request contributions be made to the Shipp Family to assist in funeral expenses. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Ricky Alan “Shicky” Shipp.
