RITA MARIE PUGH 1964-2010 Obituary

RITA MARIE PUGH, age 46 years, a former resident of Parsons and a resident of Morgantown, WV where she was a student at West Virginia University, departed this life early Saturday morning, October 2, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, following a series of strokes.

She was born Thursday, April 23, 1964 at Hampton, VA, a daughter of Jeckie Brown Pugh of Parsons and the late James M. Pugh.

Surviving are one brother, Michael J. Pugh and wife Kelly of Parsons; one sister, Marcia L. Freeman of Parsons; three nieces, Ellen, Erica and Allison and three nephews, Zac, Dylan and Tyler; three aunts and one uncle; her friend, Dr. Joseph Scotti of Morgantown.

Preceding her in death are her grandparents, Harry and Ida Brown and Edgar and Mary Pugh.

She was a graduate of Phoebus High School at Hampton, VA. with the Class of 1982. She was a Junior at West Virginia University, where she received top honors for grades in the field of Social Working so that she could help others like herself. Rita struggled with mental illness most of her life, she was able to do volunteer work with different organizations over the years. She had a special love for animals, artwork and writing poems.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Thursday October 7, 2010 at 11AM. Pastor Allen D. Crosten will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to; PAAR 81 South 19th St. Pittsburgh, PA 15203. A Celebration of Life will be held in Morgantown for her friends and family at a later date.
