Robert Bob D. Ratliff Jr Obituary 1948-2020

Robert “Bob” D. Ratliff Jr., passed away on Nov. 14, 2020.

Bob was born on Dec. 28, 1948, to Robert and Kathleen Ratliff in Elkins.

Bob served in both the United States Navy and Air National Guard. Bob later went to work in the defense industry as a technical publication writer and retired from Lockheed Martin in 2019.

Bob met his wife of 47 years, Kathy, in Columbus, Ohio, and they wed in September 1973. Together they have two daughters, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bob was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He loved his wife Kathy, and was unendingly proud of her along with all his children and grandchildren, and always tried his best to support them. Bob always brought laughter to any situation, if you were friends with him on Facebook you are more than familiar with this. He loved his friends fiercely. Bob was also a passionate outdoorsman and could often be found hunting or by the water when he wasn’t at home. Just being outside was a joy for him and where he often spent time with God.

Anyone who knew Bob knew that he was the most loving husband and father that a family could ask for.

Bob was predeceased by both his parents Robert D. Ratliff Sr. and Kathleen Ratliff.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Ratliff; daughters, Amy Marsh and Angela Pahl; grandchildren, Anthony Pahl, Katy Marsh, Lizzy Pahl, Clarissa Pahl, Dylan Anderberg and Brayden Anderberg; and great-grandchildren, Jayce Pahl, Ashlyn Pahl and BaileyRay Mejorado. Also surviving are his sisters, Dottie Woods, Bobbie Carbaugh and Ruby Machi.

The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers and notes are sent to Kathy Ratliff at 20 Amandas Ct NW, Cartersville, GA 30121.
