Robert C. Winston 1958-2002

Robert C. Winston, 44, a resident of Mill Creek, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 5, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital emergency department.

He was born March 5, 1958, at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C.

He was born the son of John Winston, Fairmont, and the late Velda Watring Winston and Charles and Francis Winston of Riverview, Fla.

He is survived by two stepsons, William Murphy of Mill Creek, and James Baker of Pennsylvania; four brothers, Kevin Winston, Woodbridge, Va., John “Rocky” Winston, Inwood, and Brian and Charlie Winston of Riverview, Fla.; and one sister, Karen Teter of Mill Creek.

He was a member of the Parsons High School Class of 1975 and received an associate degree in computer programming through Davis & Elkins College in 1997. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. serving from 1975 until 1979 and was employed by Civic Development Group of Elkins.

At the request of the deceased, his remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Leadmine United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Leard officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, West Virginia Affiliate, PO Box 11062, Charleston, W.Va. 25339 in memory of Mr. Winston. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements.
