Robert Lee “Beanpole” “Bob” Spore, age 80 of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at his home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice. He was born August 13, 1931 in Gilmer Co. a son of the late Virgil Lee and Ora Wilmoth Spore. On February 7, 1976 he married Wilma Warner who survives. He is also survived by four daughters, Mary Alice McHenry and husband Jimmy of Grafton, WV, Mabel Kay Hamner and husband Richard of Gaines, WV, Neva Mae Workman and husband James Roy of Grafton and Deann Baldinger and boyfriend Steve Alexander of Buckhannon; one son Calvin Lee Spore and fiancé’ Marsha Tenney of Hodgesville, WV; eight grandsons; seven granddaughters; six great grandsons and seven great granddaughters; two sisters, Anabelle Lipps and Virgie Landers both of Buckhannon; one brother Virgil “Bud” Spore of Hodgesville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Marie Ann Spore; one son Robert Jay Spore; two sisters, Reda Lowther and Mabel Lough and one brother Raymond Spore. Robert was a coal miner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, camping and he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 5-9 at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. George Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Church Cemetery in Hodgesville. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
