Robert W. “Jack” Champ, 81, a resident of Annapolis, Md., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, in the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md.

He was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Flint, a son of the late Dick and Daisy Champ.

He was married to Alpha Wyatt Champ, who preceded him in death on May 11, 1985.

He is survived by one brother, Carl Champ of Bend, Ore.; two sisters, Bernece Gooding of Davis, and Helen White of Elkins. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Arthur Champ and Herman “Buddy” Champ; and a sister, Edith Champ.

Mr. Champ was employed for more than 20 years as a mechanical worker for the U.S. Navy prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, Md. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, from the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Annapolis, Md. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3 North, Gambrills, Md. 21054 in memory of Mr. Champ. This announcement is a courtesy of Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins.
