RONALD L. “BUTCH” SKIDMORE Ronald Lee “Butch” Skidmore, 71, of Junior, died Sunday morning, September 2, 2012, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born May 9, 1941, at Gage, a son of the late Artie and Evelyn Marie (Kittle) Skidmore. On February 4, 1967, he married the former Diana Jean Phillips, who survives at Junior. Also surviving are one daughter, Krystal Pharis and husband, Anthony, Belington; four sons, Ronald Skidmore Jr. and wife Christina, Philippi, Michael Skidmore, Junior, Jeffery Skidmore and wife, Stephanie, Belington, Kevin Skidmore and Miranda, Philippi; seven grandchildren, Gabriel Skidmore, Trevor Scott, Brandon Skidmore, Taylor Skidmore, Haleigh Skidmore, Makylie Rinehart and Trenton Pharis; two step-grandchildren, Christopher and Tyler Pharis; and one sister, Sandra Kay Golden. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Eugene “Gene” Skidmore. Mr. Skidmore served honorably in the U. S. Navy. He was a retired truck driver with 48 years service. He retired from Walmart Corp. and had driven for D. & W. Trucking, Hinchcliff Lumber Co., Woodford Oil, Burns Motor Freight and Cooper Asphalt Co. He was a member of the Light of Christ Chapel in Belington and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 5, from the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington. The Rev. Jim Tallman will officiate and interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery where military honors will be conferred. Friends may call at the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel from 3:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour on Wednesday. Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
