Ronna Grace “Sis” Thompson, 65, of Onego, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at her residence.

Born March 28, 1938, in Onego, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Jane Turner Long and Grover Long of Onego.

Preceding her in death besides her mother were three brothers, Ronnie Dale Long, Ray Michael Long and Randy Jay Long.

Ronna retired from Hanover Shoe Factory in Franklin. She was a member of Red Creek Bethel Church of the Brethren in Dryfork and the Onego Sunshine Sisters.

Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Hansel W. “Saul” Thompson; three daughters, Edna Mullenax of Cherry Grove, Rose Arbogast of Cabins, and Penny Murphy of Alexandria, Va.; five sisters, Ruby Kisamore of Onego, Rebecca Teter of Onego, Ruthalene “Susie” Hesse of Franklin, Rosemary Hofecker of Franklin, and Rheba Helmick of Onego; two brothers, Richard Conard of Rivesville, and Richard Long of Maysville; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Elmer R. Cosner will officiate and interment will follow in the Long Family Cemetery at Cabins. Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Hansel W. Thompson, PO Box 1073, Onego, W.Va. 26886.
