Rosilee Anna Brick Grindle, age 69 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Thursday afternoon December 15, 2011 at her home, following a courageous four year battle with cancer.

She was born Wednesday, November 18, 1942 at Charleston, WV a daughter of the late William Patrick and Alyce Virginia Taylor Brick and sister to five siblings. She was raised by her paternal grandparents, Dan and Lola Casto Swartz. On June 8, 1974 at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Elkins she was married to William H. “Bill” Grindle, who survives. They had celebrated thirty-seven wonderful years of marriage. Also surviving are one son, William “Paul” Grindle, Elkins; her father and mother-in-law, Paul and Barbara Grindle, Elkins; whom she considered to be as her own parents, one brother-in- law, Clark Daniel Hinkle, Elkins; one sister-in-law, Beverly Reger and husband Dave, Buckhannon; one niece, Samantha Hinkle, Elkins; one nephew, Matt Reger, NJ; two great nieces, Kaitlin Nichole and Jessica Ann; one great nephew, West Reger and many friends and loved ones.

Preceding her in death is one sister Lola M. Hinkle.

She was a graduate of Nicholas County “Old Main” High School with the Class of 1960 and attended and received her LPN Degree from the Davis Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She had formerly worked as a nurse for Dr. Hoy Eakle at Summersville, the Davis Memorial Hospital Emergency Room and Nella’s Nursing Home. She was a master designer and driving force for over thirty-six years for the family business, Dodd’s Greenhouse. In her own quiet and unique way she brightened the lives of her family, friends and those she designed flowers for and took care of, while she served as a Nurse. She was a past member of the John Hart Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, the First United Methodist Church Women’s Circle # 3 and was past President of the Lady Templars of the Pilgrim Commandry #21, Knights Templar. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Monday, December 19, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM. Cremation will follow with a Graveside Service and interment of the cremains being held at a later date at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins.
