Rubie C. Sites 1921-2002

Rubie Catherine Sites, 81, of Riverton, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, in Nella’s Nursing Home in Crystal Springs.

Ms. Sites was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Macksville, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Margie Harper Armentrout.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Louise Marshall, Blue Grass, Va., Nancy McCarty, Kensington, Md., and Linda Judy, Riverton; a son, Jerry D. Moore, Franklin; three sisters, Carrie Wetsch, Elkins, Ann Armentrout, Front Royal, Va., and Jean Wimer, Riverton; four brothers, Arthur Armentrout and Ray Armentrout, both of Seneca Rocks, Guy Armentrout, Cherry Grove, and John Armentrout, Columbus, Ind.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Elwood Mallow; a brother, Fay Armentrout; three sisters, Joy Armentrout, Ruth Ann Armentrout and Grace Smith; and two grandchildren, Randall Lee Marshall and Cole Alan Judy.

Ms. Sites was a retired school teacher in Randolph and Pendleton counties.

She was a member of North Fork Rescue Squad/paramedic and a member of the American Legion Post 183. She attended High Rock United Methodist Church.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Basagic Funeral Home Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Rebecca Bennett and Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating. Interment will follow in North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton. Memorial donations may be made to North Fork Rescue Squad or High Rock United Methodist Church.
