RUBY VIOLET BONNER NESTOR HARBERT, age 85 years, a resident of Hendricks, WV, and more recently a resident of Land O’Lakes, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening March 16, 2011 at the home of her daughter Sandra Nestor. Death was attributed to natural causes.

She was born Thursday, May 7, 1925 at Hendricks, WV, a daughter of the late George K. “Kenny” and Emma Catherine Carr Bonner.

Ruby grew up in the Rosendorf Addition of Hendricks, WV. She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1943. Upon graduation, she moved to Mogadore, OH and worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., Akron, OH. She inspected rubber fuel tanks that were installed on Army Air Corps bombers in WWII. After the War, she returned to Hendricks and met and married Harold Nestor of Leadmine in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1958. In 1963, she married Howard W. Harbert of Montrose, who preceded her in death in 1997. She attended the Parsons Church of God. In 2003, she moved to Land O’Lakes, FL, and made her home with her daughter, Sandra Nestor. In Florida, she attended Victorious Life Church (Assembly of God), Wesley Chapel, FL.

Surviving are four daughters of the union with Harold Nestor. They are Susan Knotts and husband Donald L., Hambleton, WV, Sheila Roy and husband Harold, Winter Garden, FL, Sandra Nestor and Sherry Mills and husband Eddie, all of Land O’Lakes, FL; five grandchildren, Michele Foss and husband Michael, Blythe, CA, Thomas Gieck and wife Ramona, Imperial, CA, Kim Marshall, Winter Garden, FL, Shelly Tickle and husband Matt, Apopka, FL, and Nicholas Mills and wife Kristina, Land O’Lakes, FL; eight great grandchildren, Brittani Foss-abubo and husband Aaron, Brandon Foss and wife Heather, Samantha Phillips, Alyssa and Haley Tickle, Lauren Gieck and Nichole and Clinton Mills. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by four brothers, Ezra, Seymour, Miner and Burley Bonner and one granddaughter, Cassie Diana Mills. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Tuesday March 22, 2011 at 11 AM. The Rev. Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.
