RUSSELL FORNEY JENKINS Russell Forney Jenkins, 74, of Rt. #1, Moatsville, died Wednesday, January 11, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Penn., following an extended illness. He was born May 19, 1937, at Philippi, a son of the late Robert Samuel and Naomi Eloise (Howard) Jenkins. On August 28, 1966, he married the former Wilma Lee Mayle, who survives at their home at Rt. #1, Moatsville. Also surviving are one daughter, Sayako Karla Jenkins, Belington; two grandchildren, Russell Lee Jenkins and Jaeda Maree Jenkins, both of Belington; one sister, Mary Evelyn Jones, Philippi; two brothers, Chester Velano Jenkins, Philippi, Ferry Dillon Jenkins, Lansing, Mich. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Chisolm, Katherine Virginia Shields and Elsie Lenore Harris; and by two brothers, Robert Samuel Jenkins Jr. and Marvin Eugene Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins retired in 1980 as a Sergeant First Class from the U.S. Army, following twenty-one years service. He later managed a 7 – 11 store for the Southland Corp. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 14, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. David DeRouchie and the Rev. Ruston Seaman will officiate. Interment in the West Virginia National Cemetery will be at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, January 16 with full military rites. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Friday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M., the funeral hour, on Saturday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
