Russell Joe Nestor, Sr., age 82 years, a native of the Clover Run Community, Tucker County, WV, raised in Hendricks, WV and more recently a resident of Hamilton, NJ departed this life early Thursday morning, May 23, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He had been in declining health since February and death was attributed to cancer.

He was born Wednesday, April 15, 1931 at St. George, WV, a son of the late Porter and Flodie Roy Nestor. On June 23, 1956 at Trenton, NJ he was married to the former Lorraine Sarah Kelly, who preceded him in death on September 24, 2008. Surviving are one daughter, Kimberly L. Bohonko and husband Donald, of Hamilton Square, NJ; one son, Russell J. Nestor, Jr., and wife Colleen, of Hamilton, NJ; one brother, Murl W. Nestor and wife Violet, of Hendricks; one sister, Lucille Ball and husband Dennis, of CO; two granddaughters, Kimberly C. and Aleksa K. Bohonko, both of Hamilton Square, NJ and many nieces and nephews in NJ, WV and CO.

Preceding him in death are one infant daughter; one brother, Clifford “Kip” Nestor and several infant brothers and sisters.

Russell attended the schools of Tucker County, and was a veteran of the United States Army from January 16, 1951 to December 24, 1953. He had worked for United States Steel at Fairless Hills, PA from which he retired and was the owner and operator of a waste hauling business in NJ. Russell was a hard worker and took pride in his work. He was a very generous person and was always willing to help others. He was very well loved and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 5 to 8 PM, Tuesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor, Wednesday, May, 29, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Pastor Eugene Nestor will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
