Ruth Goodwin Baughman, 64, of Route 1, French Creek, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at 1 p.m. at her home in French Creek.

She was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Retice and Nola Loudin Hinkle.

On March 24, 1993, she married Robert D. Baughman, who survives in French Creek.

Surviving are three sons, Ronald Goodwin, Rock Cave, Don Michael Goodwin, Ivy, and Johnnie Goodwin, Burnsville; seven daughters, Tena McCartney, Bailey Ridge, Delores Karickhoff, Buckhannon, Brenda Cutright, French Creek, Roxanna Carpenter, Tallmansville, Carol Black, Ivy, Connie Tenney, French Creek, and Bonnie Sanders, Griffin, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Janie Rice, Indianapolis, Ind., Sheila Baughman, Clarksburg; 21 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a special friend and caretaker, Sandra Vose.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Allen Goodwin; two brothers, George Conard Hinkle and Retice Hinkle Jr.; two sisters, Wilma Lanham and Ina McClain; one grandson, Randall Douglas Chidester; and her first husband, Wilson W. “Wick” Goodwin.

She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.

Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Hampton Church Cemetery in Hampton.
