Obituary: Sandra Sue Hogue Sandra Sue Hogue, 61, of Norton, died Sunday, January 27, at her home following a brief illness.

She was born January 26, 1952, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Martin Franklin and Lucy Francis (Mace) Sturdivant.

Surviving are two daughters, Rhonda Shannon and husband Tim, Elkins, Cristal D. Miller, Norton; one son, Timothy Hogue and wife Jessica, Norton; five sisters, Linda (Don) Mersing, Sylvia (Bob) Martin, Patty (Sterl) Welch, Shelby (Jim) Blankenship and Jo Ann Zigler; one brother, Jack (Betty) Sturdivant; six grandchildren, Josh and Dylan Shannon, David and Sabrina Cathell, Aalyah and Trevor Hogue; and her former husband, Roger Hogue and significant other, J. D. Kyle, Norton.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Sturdivant and Norma Poling and by one brother, Gary Sturdivant.

Mrs. Hogue was owner and operator of Sandy’s Midtown Tavern in Belington.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Laurel Mountain Post #410, V.F.W.

She loved to sing and she enjoyed Billiards and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 31, from the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington, W.Va.

The Rev. Jim Tallman will officiate and interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Elkins.

Friends may call from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Thursday.

The Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
