Sarah I. Harman, 81, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2003, in Tucson, Ariz.

She was born July 8, 1922, in Elkins, the daughter of the late Fred and Susie Harman.

She is survived by four brothers, John Harman and wife, Janice, of Peterstown, Fred Harman and wife, Anne, of Fairfax, Va., William Harman of Nashville, Tenn., and Jake Harman and wife, Vicky, of Lewisburg.

One sister, Sue Gergren, preceded her in death.

Sarah graduated from Elkins High School, Davis & Elkins College and received a master’s degree from Cornell University.

She served as a county 4-H agent in Harrison, Wood and Randolph counties. She retired from the University of Arizona where she served on the state 4-H staff.

On April 4, Sarah will be remembered and honored for her work in 4-H by being inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame in Washington, D.C.

Sarah’s remains were cremated and a memorial service will be held in Tucson at a later date. This announcement is through the courtesy of the Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins for Sarah I. Harman.
