Sentinel – Model 40B – Musicaire Model 40A – 6 Tube Tombstone – Schematic Parts Alignment Voltage 1938 – Rider
I just aquired this radio, its make by Sentinel, but sold by Musicaire, under their Musicaire brand
Musicaire is also known as Coast to Coast Stores, and resold other manufacture’s radios under it Musicaire Brand
I took me a while to track down the Musicaire Model 40A is actually a Sentinel Model 40B – the label inside the radio has the model number as 40A93M, and a 40A stamped into the rear of the frame
Its a 6 tube tombstone radio that needs an electrical restoration, and a wood cabinet restoration
Some of the veneer is lifted and chipped, so its going to be an extensive cabinet restoration
I haven’t gotten the chassis out of the cabinet yet, so I’m not sure how extensive the restoration will be for the electrical
I’ll be posting the ‘before’ pictures soon, I’m in the middle of another restoration and I need to finish it before I can start this one
I searched the web and found Rider has schematics for the 40A, and radiomuseum has some basic information, but no pictures, and that is all, either there is no more info on this model, or just about nothing has been posted to the web
The Musicaire 40A is AC powered
