Shane Michael Rowan, age 61 years, a resident of Jimtown, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at his home following an extended illness and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
He was born May 27, 1959 at Baltimore, MD a son of the late William Delbert Rowan, Jr. and the late Kathryn Irene Shanahan Rowan.
He was twice married, first to Judi Broschart Rowan who preceded him in death and later to Mary Carpenter Rowan who survives at Jimtown.
Also surviving are his stepmother, Martha Rowan; children, Randy Carpenter and Cora, Angel Mack and Troy, Samuel Carpenter and Brittany, Dusty and Luke Carpenter and Nick and Jake Cramer and Aaron Wegman and Amber Powell and Tommy; siblings, Michelle Nutter and Todd, Steve Rowan and Connie, Suzette Rexrode and Mike, Sandra Mick and Dan, Stacey McCartney and Ronnie, Amy Smith and Brad, Keith Shoemaker and Rhonda, Tammy Shoemaker and Loretta Kuntz and Joel; twelve grandchildren. Shane attended Coalton School and was a truck driver prior to becoming disabled in 2012. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Rowan Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Terry Cannon officiating. Interment will follow. Masks and social distancing are recommended for those attending the service. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Shane Michael Rowan. The Family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the family to assist with the cost of the funeral.
