Klare “Snap” Cooper, 77, of Harman died Sept. 30, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. He was born Feb. 9, 1924 in Harman, a son of the late Arthur and Mae Dove Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Wymer Cooper of Harman; two sisters, Lila Lee Ray, Harman, and “JoAnn” Theresa Jones, of Indianapolis, IN and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Cooper was a lifelong member and elder of the Harman Presbyterian Church, president of the Harman nutrition Center, a member of Thomas Fairfax Lodge 174, Elkins Chapter 35 RAM, the Osiris Temple of Wheeling Templar Commandery 021 of Elkins, International Association Legions of Honor AAONMS, American Legion Post 29 of Elkins, and the VFW Post 5781 of Harman. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and retired from the construction business.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Chapel, Davis, today, Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 5-9 pm. Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, at 2 pm at the Harman Presbyterian church with the Rev. Dr. Leonard Hood officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at the Cooper Family Cemetery with military graveside rites.
