Harold Gene “Squeak” Bright, 68 of Pheasant Run, Kerens, died August 21, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to complications of diabetes.

He was born Jan. 2, 1933, at Parsons, a son of the late Henry Robert Sr. and Eva E. Belt Bright. On April 14, 1957 at West Union he was married to the former Nettie G. Loughry, who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Michael Lynn, Paul Keith, and mark Allen Bright, all of Pheasant run, James Patrick (and Vickie) Bright, St. Geroge; one daughter Pauletta Kay (and Junior) Canfield, Elkins; a sister, Betty McCourt, Fort Mill, SC; a granddaughter, Misty Dawn (and Mike) Ritter, Bretz; a brother in law, Pete Nestor, Kingwood, Juanita Roy and Linda Cale of Parsons, Janet Bohon, St. George, Ruth Bright, Dayton, OH; several nieces and nephews

Preceding him in death were a brother, Henry Bright Jr., and a sister, Mrs. Tub (Eula) Cross.

He attended the one room school at Pheasant Run, the Parsons Grade School and Parsons High School. He was a veteran, serving with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He received his high school diploma this year from the Veterans Affairs administration. He was a former employee of the Nelson Tree Trimming Service, the Kingsford Charcoal Company, the WV Department of Highways, the Armour Leather Tannery Company, and retired from the Mount Storm Power Plant in 1978.

Friends were received ath the Barb-Greenlief Funeral Home Saturday, August 25, Mr. Bright was then moved to the Irons Chapel Church, Pheasant Run, where final rites were conducted. Pastor Pat Cassidy and the Rev. Leon Hevener officiated and interment followed at the Parsons Family Cemetery at Shavers Fork.
