Terrill L Haddix 1939-2002

The Rev. Terrill L. Haddix, 62, of Backus, Minn., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

The Rev. Haddix was born June 2, 1939, in Elkins, a son of the late Ralph and Amy Folks Haddix.

On Sept. 3, 1966, at the Church of the Nazarene in Grand Rapids, he married the former Anita Baker, who survives in Backus, Minn.

Also surviving are two sons, Paul Haddix, Backus, Minn., and Kyle Haddix and wife, Angela, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara (Scott) Darger, Madison, Wis.; eight brothers, Ray Haddix, Church Hill, Tenn., Carl Haddix, Bowling Green, Ky., Arden Haddix, Oakland Park, Fla., Elmer Haddix, Canton, Ohio, Glenn Haddix, Columbia, Verle Haddix, Amherst, Ohio, Bruce Haddix, Elkins, and Jimmy Hokada, Marion, Va.; a sister, Iris Cutright, Elkins; and three grandchildren, Hunter, Kyle and Chandler.

The Rev. Haddix was a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, Tenn. He graduated from the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo.

He served in Bellevue, Ohio, for 1 1/2 years and in 1969 moved to Backus, where he served as pastor of the Church of the Nazarene for 33 years.

He served on the Church of the Nazarene Minnesota District Advisory Board and was a trustee for the Mid-america Nazarene University for several years and served on numerous other boards and committees of the church. He was a member of Backus Fire Department.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends may call at the Church of the Nazarene in Backus, Minn., Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in Backus School Gymnasium Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Sickels, the Rev. Melvin Patrick, the Rev Phil Cox and the Rev. Edward Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Backus, Minn.
