THERESA LOUISE “TERRY” KOMROFSKE GOODING, age 80 years, departed this life Thursday morning, November 10, 2011 at Valentine Personal Care Home at Beverly, WV surrounded by her family. Terry was a former resident of Tucker Co. She resided in Mineral Co with her husband Joe until his death in 2003. She then resided with her daughter Kathleen of Inwood, WV for seven years and then with her son Ernest of Montrose for the past year.

She was born Wednesday, May 6, 1931 at Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late William and Hattie Komrofske. On October 3, 1952 at Chicago, she was married to Joseph “Joe” Gooding, who preceded her in death, February 21, 2003.

Surviving are one son, Ernest Gooding and wife Robin of Montrose; one daughter, Kathleen Gooding-jose and husband John of Inwood; five grandchildren, Ernest Gooding, Jr. and wife Amanda, Katie Vance and husband Evan, Matthew Gooding, Kelly Gooding, Jonni Jose; and four great grandchildren, Kaleb Gooding, Gracie Gooding, Makayla and Seth Vance.

Preceding her in death are one great granddaughter, Katelyn Riffle; one brother; and three sisters.

She attended the schools of Chicago, IL. Terry was co-owner along with her husband Joe of Terry’s Restaurant and Ashland Gas Station of Montrose during the 60’s and 70’s. She was well known for her famous “Terry’s Pizza’s and Chili Dogs”. She was a member of the VFW, Moose, Rebekah Lodge, and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed reading, bowling and playing bingo. She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church (her extended family) of Inwood, WV where she was involved in several parish activities.

On Monday, November 14, 2011, Mrs. Gooding will be moved to the St. Leo’s Catholic Church at Inwood, WV, where friends may call from 11 AM until Noon, at which time the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rev. Father Brian Shoda will be the Celebrant. On Tuesday, November 15, 2011, friends may call at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV from 5 to 8 PM. On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, Mrs. Gooding will be moved to the Rose Hill Cemetery at Thomas, WV, where a graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM. The Rev. Mr. Raymond G. Godwin will officiate and interment will follow. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Building Fund; PO Box 93, Inwood, WV 25428.
