Thomas Ray Swisher 1962-2010 Obituary

Thomas Ray Swisher, 48, a resident of Elkins entered into eternal rest Monday, July 5, 2010 in Kingwood, WV as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born Thursday, February 1, 1962 at Elkins, a son of Willard Thomas “Bill” Swisher and Margaret Ann Barton Swisher, who survive at Elkins. On March 15, 1990 at Winchester, VA, he was married to the former Linda Jackson, who also survives at Elkins. Tom was a graduate of Ripley High School, had served with the United States Army, was the owner / operator of Swisher Construction, and had worked for Randolph County Schools as the supervisor of maintenance and facilities. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who loved to ride his Harley-davidson, he enjoyed hunting, and was a member of the Elkins Masonic Lodge #108 AF & AM. Others left to cherish Tom’s memories include six children, Marshall Swisher and Danielle Swisher, both of southern West Virginia, Brittany Swisher, T.R. Swisher, II, Amber Swisher, and Paige Barrick, all of Elkins, two brothers, Richard and Dorsey Owen Swisher, both of Elkins, two sisters, Shelly Thompson, Tennessee, and Crystal Swisher, Elkins, and four grandchildren. At Tom’s request, his body will be cremated
