TROY COOLIDGE YOKUM, age 90 years, a resident of Harman, WV departed this life Sunday morning April 24, 2011 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center in Elkins.

He was born Sunday July 4, 1920 at Bonner Mountain, Dry Fork Community a son of the late Dennis Yokum and Lucy Greenwalt Yokum. On July 19, 1941 at Oakland, MD he was married to Nora Grace Harper Yokum; who preceded him death on November 12, 2010.

Surviving are four sons, Robert Dennis Yokum and wife Janice, Bruceton Mills; Theodore McClure Yokum and fiancée Judy, Harman; Troy Michael Yokum and wife Cynthia, Seneca Rocks; John Wade Yokum and wife Renee, Elkins; two sisters, Ruby Silber, Cumberland, MD and Gladys Heitz of Thomas; nine grandchildren, Randy, Rick, Dennis, Jamey, Teresa, Kevin, Amanda, Shane and Nicole; and eleven great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is one brother, Kelly Yokum; one sister, Hilda Stanhagen and one grandson, Tracey Yokum.

He attended the schools of Harman and was a graduate of Davis High School. He was a life long farmer. He was a cement finisher, having belonged to the Brick Layers Union. He was a former custodian at the Harman School. He was a former guard at the forestry camp at Davis. He was a member of the Randolph County Democratic Executive Committee for many years. He attended the Harperton Sunday School and was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Harman.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 until 8 PM Wednesday April 27, 2011. On Thursday morning Mr. Yokum will be moved to the Church of the Brethren at Harman, where friends may call from 12 noon until 1 PM the funeral hour. Pastor John R. Moyers will officiate and interment will follow at the Jacob C. Harper Cemetery at Harman, WV.
