Twila Virginia Carter 1924-2002 Obituary

Twila Virginia Carter, 77, of 2145 Fourth St., Port Townsend, Wash., died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at her home.

Mrs. Carter was born Nov. 17, 1924, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Moody Sewell Channell and the late Laura Mae Poe.

On May 14, 1956, in Clullam County, Wash., she married Earl Robert Carter, who preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1996.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Lee Carter, Bellingham, Wash., and Richard Lee Caricofe, Salina, Kan.; a daughter, Judith Elaine Laurent, Port Townsend, Wash.; a granddaughter, Patricia Juarez; and a great-grandson, Donald E. Green.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Robinson.

Mrs. Carter was a graduate of Elkins High School. She and her husband moved to Port Townsend, Wash., 35 years ago upon his retirement from the Navy.

Funeral Arrangements: A reception will be at Roadhouse Cafe Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Shelter, 112 Critter Lane, Port Townsend, Wash. 98368. Kosec Funeral Home & Crematory, 1615 Parkside Drive, Port Townsend, Wash., is in charge of the arrangements.
