Ullwin N. Pugh, 76, of Hacker Valley, passed away July 27, 2002, following a reoccurring battle with leukemia.

He was born May 17, 1926, the second son of the late Elmer M. and Clara Goff Pugh.

A lifelong resident of Webster County, he graduated from Webster Springs High school with the class of 1944. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a retired poultry farmer, truck driver and logging contractor.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Willa Bickel Pugh; two daughters, Debby Stone of Buckhannon, and Doretta Osburn of Hurricane; one son, Woody Pugh of Webster Springs; one granddaughter, Lauren Osburn of Hurricane; one grandson, Adam Stone of Buckhannon; one sister, Leta Payne of Raleigh, N.C.; and one brother, Wendell Pugh of Berkeley Springs.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. Donzal Pugh.

Friends may call Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home in Webster Springs. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hacker Valley Cemetery in Hacker Valley.
