HINTON – Vera A. Chenoweth, 88, of Walnut Street, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital, Hinton, following a short illness. Born Jan. 26, 1912, in Junior, she was the daughter of the late Judson and Mary Rider Corley. Mrs. Chenoweth had been a resident of Hinton for the past 52 years. She lived the early part of her life in Junior. After coming to Hinton, she worked at Skidmore’s Store until her health began to fail in 1995. She was a member of Bellepoint Baptist Church, Hinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. Chenoweth Sr.; and a son, Arthur G. Chenoweth Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Meador and her husband, Andrew, of Zephyrhills, Fla., and a daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Chenoweth of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Chris Brown officiating. Graveside services and burial will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Elkins Memorial Gardens with Pastor Doyle Rider officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at Tomblyn Funeral Home, Elkins. Arrangements by Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors, Hinton.
