Virgil Ray Ware Sr. 1944-2002

Virgil Ray Ware Sr., 58, of 109 Keyser Ave., Belington, died Friday morning, Dec. 20, 2002, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born May 11, 1944, at Junior, a son of the late Chester Ware and the late Virginia Osborn Bostick.

On Nov. 24, 1965, he married the former Ruth Deloris Miller, who survives at Keyser Avenue, Belington.

Also surviving are three daughters, Delores Eblin and husband, Homer, Elkins, Beverly Ware and fiance, Andy Wells, Galloway, and Rosale Ware, at home; one son, Virgil Ware Jr. and companion, LaDonna Moore, at home; grandchildren, Tommy Swick and Timmy Swick, Charlestown, Tammy Swick, Martinsburg, Earl “Elwood” Roy IV and Cody Roy, Galloway, Mary Staton, Elkins; brother, Charles Ware, Valley Bend; sisters, Cora Mae Pharis, Judy Pharis and Nancy Pharis, all of Belington; stepbrother, Robert Ware, Belington; stepsisters, Carol Bolstick, Ohio, Linda Coberly, Montrose, and Mary Ware, Elkins; his stepmother, Verna Jean Ware, Elkins; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Junior Ware, and one sister, Daisy Ware.

Mr. Ware was a former timber cutter and was a Methodist by faith.

Friends may call at the Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Doyle N. Rider officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Knights of Pythias Cemetery near Junior. Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
