Virginia Greye Carr Henline, 93, a former resident of Valley Head, passed from this life Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Virginia was born Thursday, July 28, 1921 in Braxton County, a daughter of the late William Fred Carr and Orpha Connie Duckworth.

On January 24, 1948, she was married to Billy Lee Henline who preceded her in death on July 31, 2012.

Also left to cherish Virginia’s memory are her children, Connie Beth Channell and husband, Ted of Valley Head, Judith Sharon Jones and husband, Roger of Valley Bend, Sue Henline of Elkins, and Robert S. Henline and wife, Sandy of Mill Creek, a son-in-law, Douglas L. Fritz of Kentucky, a sister, Vesta L. McIntire of Silver Spring, MD, a brother, W. Everett Carr of Charleston, twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Virginia in death was a daughter, Michele L. Fritz, a sister, Mary Landry, a brother, Eugene Carr, a granddaughter, Deborah L. Louk, and a great grandson, Kevin L. Louk. Virginia attended the schools of Braxton and Webster Counties.

She had worked for Glen L. Martin in Baltimore, MD during World War II, and retired from Elkins Convalescent Hospital in 1986.

She enjoyed reading, walking, gardening, canning, and taking pictures. She was a Methodist by faith.

Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Saturday from 6PM – 8PM.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home chapel on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 2PM.

Rev. Tristan Tenney will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
