Virginia Lee “Ginny” Gray Bohon, age 84 years, a native of Parsons, WV, and a resident of Akron, OH, departed this life Thursday evening, July 22, 2021, at Akron City Hospital at Akron, OH.
She was born Sunday, March 7, 1937, at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Herman Earl and Shirley Eileen Kisner Gray. During August of 1968, she was married to Edward Claude Bohon, who preceded her in death.
Surviving is a sister, Wanda Gray Carr and husband Leon of Newton Falls, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are one brother, Harold Gray; two half-brothers, Jim Gray and Odford “Buck” Gray; and two half-sisters, Freda Parsons and Evelyn Swinford.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1955. She worked at the former Shilanski Grocery Store and was a former employee of Jim Propst Store. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church at Parsons, WV and Relentless Church in Akron, OH, where she was very active. She was a member of the Red Hats Society and volunteered at the Haven of Rest. Ginny loved to travel on bus trips.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday, July 26, 2021, from 9 AM to 11 AM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 AM. The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows, WV. The family suggest that expressions of sympathy by in the form of contributions to St. Johns United Methodist Church, 107 River Street, Parsons, WV 26287 or a charity of your choice.
