Vurcle Eugene Delauder 1933-2002 Obituary

Vurcle Eugene “Gene” Delauder, 68, a resident of Laurel View Apartments, Belington, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born Aug. 28, 1933, at Weaver, the son of the late Wade and Myrtle Mae Phillips Delauder.

Survivors include two sisters, Wanda Suder and Catherine Charles, both of Belington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, the Rev. Nelson T. Delauder, and by an infant brother and sister, who were twins.

Mr. Delauder was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Belington Church of Christ.

Mr. Delauder was a former housekeeper in the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center and retired as a park attendant at Audra State Park.

Friends may call at the Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and on Monday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Michael Phillips, minister of the Belington Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Cemetery
