Walter Ross “Tunney” Kines, 71, of Leadmine died July 31 at home.

He was born August 13, 1929 in Grafton, a son of the late Jacob Howard and Jocia Miranda Cox Kines.

Survivors include his wife, Prema Wotring Kines; two daughters, Mrs. Scott (Karen) Hockman, Parsons, Mrs. Pat (Kathy) Arnold, Davis; a brother, Howard Kines, Grafton, three sisters, Mary Preston, Cleveland, OH, Betty Huffman, Grafton, Hazel Bennett, Geneva OH; three grandchildren, “Sunny” Arnold, Laurie Steffan, Josh Hockman and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Claudis and Emmet and one sister, Merle Kines preceded him in death.

Mr. Kines retired as maintenance supervisor for Camp Horseshoe for 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, a member of the VFW Post 3081 of Grafton and was affiliated with the Leadmine United Methodist Church.

Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis, Funeral services were held Aug. 3 at Leadmine United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Leard officiating. Interment followed in the Shaffertown Cemetery.
