Walter T. Yanosik, 73, a resident of Valley Head, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at 1:03 a.m. in Davis Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since Jan. 18, 2003.

He was born March 8, 1929, in Madera, Penn., a son of the late Joseph T. and Barbara L. Prementine Yanosik.

On Jan. 26, 1957, he was united in marriage to the former Anna Christina Ware, who survives at Valley Head.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his only daughter, Christina E. Yanosik of Elkins; one sister, Judith Ann Meadows and husband, Earnest, of Elkins; and one brother, John W. Yanosik and wife, Mary, of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews including Charles Storey, Dean Storey, Barbara Curtis, Garilee Mallow and John Rider; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 1946. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, where he received several ribbons and awards. He also worked for Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore, Md. He was a brick yard worker in Maryland. He was a shipping supervisor for Labcraft, retiring with 32 years of service. He loved to play the guitar.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of F.E. Runner Funeral Home.
