WANDA LEA MCDONALD EVICK, age 85 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Saturday evening October 29, 2011 at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins, WV.

She was born Thursday, July 1, 1926 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late William “Claude” and Alma Crosten McDonald. She was married to Ralph Jr. “Jeep” Evick, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Ralph Allen Evick of Parsons and Rendell “Rennie” Lee Evick of Holly Meadows; four sisters, Louella Alta Ferruso and husband Orlando “Mike” of Baltimore, MD, Madonna Tumblin and husband Bill of Winchester, VA, Annalou Wyatt and husband John of Newport News, VA and Charlesetta “Gussie” Lee and husband Arthur of Winchester, VA; four grandchildren, Lisa Brown, Brian Evick, Eric Evick and Linnsey Amores; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are one brother, Tony Claude McDonald and one sister, Atha Patricia McDonald.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1944. She was an employee of the former Dorman Woolen Mill. She served as Deputy County Clerk for Tucker County. She along with her husband was the owner and operator of the former Hinebaugh’s Restaurant in Parsons and she retired from D & W Trucking Co., working as Secretary for twenty three years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and she loved to visit with her family.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 1:00PM. The Rev. Father Timothy Grassi will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.
