Wanda Marie Shahan 1931-2002

Wanda Marie Shahan, 70, of Kirt community, Route 1, Montrose, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, following an extended illness.

She was born March 16, 1931, at Belington, a daughter of the late Coleman and Anna Carr Cross.

On June 29, 1950, in Oakland, Md., by the Rev. Denver C. Pickens, she was married to L.E. Shahan, who survives at Route 1, Montrose.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Anna M. Scott and Mrs. Kimberly L. Carpenter and husband, John, all of Montrose; one son, Timothy Lee Shahan and wife, Carrie, Gerard, Ohio; four sisters, Lillie V. Coontz and Mrs. Robert (Williadean) Boyles, both of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Juanita L. Delauder and Mrs. Paul (Juva) Simmons, Montrose; nine grandchildren, Anita Scott Rosier, Tracey Scott Simmons, Juva Charlene Carpenter, Jonathan Carpenter, Jeremy Carpenter, Jody Carpenter, Jared Carpenter, Sidney Marie Shahan and Mary Etta Shahan; three great-grandchildren, Ariel Scott, Timothy Rosier and Eddy Simmons; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Leta Harris and Anna Lee Johnson; and three infant sisters; four infant brothers; one grandson, Victor Scott Jr.; and one great-grandson, David Rosier.

Mrs. Shahan was a homemaker and was a member of the Central Chapel United Methodist Church.

Friends may call at Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Larry Poling officiating. Interment will follow in Central Chapel Cemetery.
