Wayne Gray Huffman 1945-2021 Obituary
Wayne Gray Huffman, age 75 years, a lifelong resident of Harman and Dry Fork, WV, departed this life Friday morning, July 9, 2021 at Davis, WV. Death was unexpected and attributed to cardiac arrest.
He was born Monday, August 6, 1945 at Pendleton County, WV on the Huffman Farm, a son of the late Carl Eston and Hollie Cooper Huffman. On August 24, 1991 at Oakland, MD, he was married to the former Patricia V. Keller, who survives at Dry Fork, WV.
Also surviving are two sons, Gregg Huffman and wife Cindy of Bunker Hill, WV, Anthony Huffman of Elkins, WV; one step-son, Scott Zimmer and wife Kim of San Diego, CA; two brothers, Lake Huffman and Arden Huffman, both of Harman, WV; and eight grandchildren, Tyler Huffman and wife Kayla of Hopkins, MI, Cheyenne Huffman of Bunker Hill, Gage Huffman of Elkins, WV, Louie and Anthony Zimmer of San Diego, CA, Nickolas, Michael, and Julia Cosentino of Tucson, AZ; three great grandchildren, Hudson, Grady and Parker Huffman, all of Hopkins, MI; and two very special friends, Pat and Mary Fox of Belington, WV.
He was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Kari Cosentino; and one sister, Shannon Lambert.
He was a graduate of Harman High School with the Class of 1963. He had worked for the Western Maryland Railroad / CSX Transportation for nine years. He worked at Timberline Resort, Deerfield Village and most recently at the Canaan Valley Resort as a snow groomer and in maintenance. He was a member of the Bear Hunters Association, the Harman Presbyterian Church and enjoyed his Blue Tick, Red Tick and Walker Dogs. He was an avid bear hunter, gardener and dog lover.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Tuesday at 1PM. The Rev. Terry Weaver will officiate and cremation will follow. A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
