Wesley Dodrill 1928-2002 Obituary

Wesley Dodrill, 73, a resident of Valley Head, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at 8:25 a.m. in Davis Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past several days. He had been in failing health for the past four years.

He was born July 14, 1928, at Monterville, a son of the late Chambers Wesley and Mintie Conrad Dodrill.

On June 12, 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Lillian Arbogast, who survives at Valley Head.

Also surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ivan Dodrill and wife, Anna, of Monterville, Jennings Dodrill and wife, Pauline, of Elkins and Kenna Dodrill and wife, Eva, of Warren, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were three brothers, Woodrow, Floyd and Delmar Dodrill.

Mr. Dodrill was a retired coal miner, having last worked for Badger Coal Mines. He was a member of Tygart Valley Post 3647 VFW and attended the Friendship Community Church. He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Friends will be received at Friendship Community Church today after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Friendship Community Church Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Eddie Kyle, pastor of the church and the Rev. Kenneth L. Dodrill will officiate. Interment will follow in Valley Head Cemetery at Valley Head. The presentation of the American flag will be presented by Tygart Valley Post 3647 at the gravesite.
