Wilda Marie Pomp Arbogast, 86, a resident of Elkins, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Yvonne Murphy.

She was born Dec. 6, 1926. at Hemlock, a daughter of the late William M. Pomp and Nettie W. Smith Pomp.

On Sept. 27, 1946, at Elkins, she was married to Henry Jasper Arbogast, who preceded her in death April 9, 1992.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Lee Arbogast of Coalton and Mark Henry Arbogast of Elkins; and three daughters, Yvonne Murphy and Sharon Rogers, both of Elkins, and Wanda Reed of Morgantown. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Linda Roop; one granddaughter, Holly Baker; one grandson, Shane Henry Roop; three brothers, Berton Pomp, Robert “Cecil” Pomp and William Hayes Pomp; and one sister, Lillian Bennett.

Mrs. Arbogast was a homemaker, a volunteer with Operation Christmas Child and sang with the Melody Chorus. She was a member of Belington Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 1: p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Phil Ryder and the Rev. Richard Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery near Beverly.
