William R. Embrey 1931-2002 Obituary

William R. Embrey, 71, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Mr. Embrey was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Virginia, a son of the late Pleasant and Edna Webb Embrey.

He was twice married. First, he married Dorothy, who survives in Virginia. Second, he married Libby Embrey, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Janet Embrey, Florida; one son, William R. Embry Jr., Virginia; four stepdaughters, Judy Riley, Ohio, Shirley Ward, Maryland, Charlotte Beckner and Bonnie Miller, both of Buckhannon; four stepsons, Jerry Squires, New York, Richard Squires, Jerry Squires Jr. and Raymond Squires, all of Buckhannon; one brother, Walter Embrey, Virginia; one sister, Myrtle Shedds, Virginia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a special companion, Charlotte Squires; two sisters, Ann Fullmer and Edith Buckner; four brothers, Virgil Embrey, Thomas Embrey, Pleasent Lee Embrey Jr. and Francis Scott Embrey; and one grandson, James Robert Beckner Jr.

Mr. Embrey was a carpenter. He was a member of Warren District Volunteer Fire Department.

Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Mike Westfall officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery.
