Willie Clinton “Clint” Wimer, 92, of Cherry Grove, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Nella’s Nursing Home in Crystal Springs.

He was born Feb. 24, 1911, at Hunting Ground, a son of the late Tiberius Wimer and Cora Ellen Thompson Wimer.

He was a retired mail carrier and a school bus driver for Pendleton County Schools. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a past member of Spruce Knob VFW Post 2370 and a Methodist by faith. He was a farmer.

On June 9, 1945, he married Ethel Jane Vandevander Wimer, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Curtis G. Wimer of Parsons; and two grandsons, Paul and Philip Wimer of Parsons.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin with graveside military services conducted by members of the Pendleton County Veterans honor guard. Friends may call at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
