YVETTA JEAN NESTOR SHAVER, age 75 years, a resident of Elkins, WV, departed this life Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Monongalia General Hospital at Morgantown, WV, following a long and difficult illness.

She was born Monday, June 3, 1935 at St. George, WV a daughter of the late Darl Nestor and Mabel Nestor.

She was twice married. First to Ben Simmons and second to Everett Shaver, who both preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Franklin Simmons and wife Paula, Beverly; three daughters, Rebecca Moore, Ravenswood, WV; Rose Manolidis and husband Rodney, Elkins; Lenora Tenney and husband Marvin, Belington; five step daughters; one sister, Yvonne Hedrick, Montrose; nine grandchildren, Ben Moore and wife Tess, Jeremy Moore; Matthew Simmons and wife Dora; Crystal, April and Jeff Mandolidis and wife Laura; Amanda and Elizabeth Simmons and Sara Tenney; five great grandsons, Jacob, Sam, Devon, Bryce, and Gauge; several nieces and nephews; her lifelong friend, Virgie Lambert and her dear friends and co-workers, Carolyn Phillips and Janet Stalnaker.

Preceding her in death are her precious foster daughter, Angel Lasko.

She attended the one room school at Pifer Mountain and was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1953. She was a homemaker and raised four children all of which completed post high school education.

She then went on to work as a Nursing Assitant for many years at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center and encouraged her daughters to become nurses.

Her former son in law Larry Moore was her devoted caregiver.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Tuesday.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 PM, Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.

The Rev. A. H. Belt will officiate and interment will follow.
